This wiki gives steps to create Slope Signature strings.
Create a Slope Signature String (Modify > Edit Strings > Add Slope Signature String...):

You probably want to use a relatively small interval because the tadpoles will only be drawn on the long
lines which run from top to toe (the value of 10m in the screenshot is probably too large):
Create a MX Line Style (Tools > Create Line Styles...) using the following settings:
Save the Line Style using a sensible name, e.g. ‘TadPole for SlopeSignatureStrings’.
Make sure the MX Styles Toolbar (View > Toolbars > Styles) is opened.
Select the Line Style and apply it to the Slope Signature Strings:
if you look in top view you should see:
